Interim Dean Steve Perry discusses how the internet sometimes makes someone’s creative work, whether a poem or song or photo, an orphan. Orphan works that cannot be traced back to their creators may by default be treated as items in the public domain, but should a corporation then be able to profit from that and copyright it for the corporation’s use?
