The Electoral College has often been criticized and there have been about 700 proposals to change or eliminate it.  Dr. Stephen Perry, Interim Dean of the Robertson School of Government, explains why it needs to be strengthened instead. He suggests giving an extra elector to each of the 50 states to move closer to the weight provided to each state by the framers of the constitution.
